The ASTRAIOS Project continues to spotlight unique and inspiring career paths into the space sector through its dedicated interview series, designed to guide and motivate the next generation of space professionals. In recent episodes, three professionals from diverse backgrounds shared their personal stories, career insights, and valuable advice for those aspiring to work in the dynamic world of space.


Frédéric Collomb: From Aeronautics to Space Consultancy

Frédéric Collomb, Principal Consultant in a French space consultancy, opens the series with his transition from aeronautics into the space sector. He sheds light on the wide range of opportunities available, particularly in Earth Observation and programmes such as Copernicus and Galileo. His advice to young professionals emphasises staying informed, building expertise in key space domains, and seeking interdisciplinary collaboration.


Danijela Ignjatović Stupar: Bridging Disciplines and Borders

Originally from Serbia, Danijela Ignjatović Stupar brings a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by her background in geodetic engineering and a PhD in Mining & Geo-Technologies. Now based in France, she discusses the challenges and rewards of working in a high-pressure, international space environment. Her story highlights the importance of continuous learning and adaptability when entering the global space workforce.


Gabriella Povero: Signals from Space and Innovation on Earth

With roots in telecommunications and computer science, Gabriella Povero, Innovation Manager at Fondazione LINKS in Torino, reflects on her career path into satellite navigation and Earth observation. She shares her experiences working on ESA-related projects and developing ground-based receiver systems. Gabriella’s journey underscores the impact of mentorship, the need for diverse voices in tech, and the power of curiosity in shaping innovation.
