ASTRAIOS is proud to be featured in Issue #3 of the EASN Newsletter with a dedicated article highlighting the project’s recent milestones and its lasting contribution to Europe’s space skills ecosystem.
The article reflects on ASTRAIOS’s final phase, marked by two key events that brought the project’s vision and achievements to the forefront.
On 15 October 2025, ASTRAIOS held a dedicated session at the 15th EASN International Conference in Madrid. The session, entitled “Building a Future-Ready Space Workforce in Europe”, offered a comprehensive overview of the project’s core outcomes, including the mapping of European space education and training programmes, workforce and mobility analyses, and the development of open-access MOOCs, learning materials, and career resources. These deliverables have been made available through the ASTRAIOS website, providing a valuable knowledge base that directly supports EU initiatives such as the Pact for Skills and the SPACE4GEO Large-scale Skills Partnership. The session drew strong interest from students, researchers, and professionals eager to engage with the evolving space skills landscape.
Just weeks later, on 1 December 2025, ASTRAIOS hosted its Final Event in Paris, titled “Towards a Skilled Europe for Space Innovation.” This hybrid event brought together stakeholders from across Europe to revisit the project’s results and explore ways to strengthen collaboration, skills development, and knowledge sharing within the European space sector. The event featured presentations of the final project outputs and interactive discussions that encouraged forward-thinking dialogue on the future of Europe’s space workforce. A full recording of the event will soon be available on the ASTRAIOS YouTube channel.
Although ASTRAIOS is concluding its official activities, the project’s impact continues. All its resources — including webinars, MOOCs, training materials, workforce analyses, and career tools — remain freely accessible through the ASTRAIOS website. These resources ensure that the project’s insights and educational materials will continue to support a skilled and future-ready European space community for years to come.
To explore these developments in detail, we invite you to read the full article in the EASN Newsletter – Issue #3.
